English is not my mother tongue either, but I am not sure I understand the problem here.
If I ask deepl, this translates to:
- kostenlose Beratung (DE)
- conseil gratuit (FR)
which both seem fine to me, no?

The word they think is “Beratung”. The translation should be “Consulting” or “Consultation” I think.
“Advice” is : ADVICE | English meaning - Cambridge Dictionary
an opinion that someone offers you about what you should do or how you should act in a particular situation.
A friend can give you an advice about something.
I’m not 100% sure, but I think even “conseil” in french is wrong.
Digitec offers until 24.12.21 their unlimited calls and unlimited data in CH (EU/USA 1 GB/month) for CHF 20.00 month (12 or 24 month prepaid abo available).
I have been with them for 2 years and cannot complain, but I did change today to Yallo Black.
The digitec offer is good, no question about that. But offering the same price for more than two years made me think. With Yallo Black, I pay slightly more but have unlimited data in EU/US/Canada.
Sidenote: for those that want to change to Yallo Black, it is still possible by calling their hotline.
Digitec makes mostly sense if these two conditions are fulfilled:
Me and my family have been paying <10 francs per month for the past couple of years.
How exactly did you reach less than 10.-? I use the vouchers for 240.- (the one @TrickMcDave) mentioned.
We use the vouchers where you pay 100.- for one year.
Oh, didn’t know they exist. Do you remember when you bought the last one or under what circumstances? Thanks a lot
Edit: I should have checked on Black Friday I guess…
You also get vouchers when you buy a new phone, they get resold (discounted). Probably check various platform for those.
@Neville @nabalzbhf Just found the following article: Unser digitec connect Handy-Abo für Studierende für nur 12.– pro Monat - digitec
If someone of the 5 ppl is studying, everyone only has to pay 12 Francs (and get unlimited data)!
Would this work with a free account created here ??
https://www.switch.ch/edu-id/
Can someone try ?
Thats not how it works. If you are student, besides creating that account you have to connect it with your school. When connecting Digitec Connect and edu id, information about the school is shared.
Talktalk XXL plan at 25 is back.
Any experiences here with talktalk since last offer ?
It’s a 24 month term IIRC. Enough of a deal breaker in my opinion.
Hi everybody,
I have sort of a mountain conundrum in that, for hiking purposes, I would need to have access to both Swisscom and Sunrise networks, preferably on the same SIM card, do you know of any option to do that? I had thought about taking a european abo with unlimited roaming in Switzerland but don’t know the best providers and the big known ones seem kind of expensive (like in Switzerland).
What phone do you have?
Same SIM card means it has to be foreign SIM - which can be kind of flaky to get internet access on romaing (which you don’t want to have in the mountains). Also, often somewhat expensive, since Switzerland isn’t covered by free EU roaming.
If it’s for hiking in Switzerland, I’d get a Dual-SIM phone.
If you want to go for a mustachian option, you can try Dutch SIM Vodafone prepaid SIM cards (see here). I ordered mine a few years back, and it’s enough to upload 5€ every 6 months to avoid being deactivated. They have 2GB for 9€ per month, if that’s enough for you. Calls are 9 cent/min. I ordered my card using ebay back then, but it was before I moved to Switzerland.
Crosscall Trekker X3, they apparently have made using 2 SIMs possible on the X4 so replacing the phone may be the best option, thanks for the tip.
@FIREstarter : thanks. Any idea how to check what partnerships they have (I’m guessing that’s how you know to what networks they get access in Switzerland)?
I don’t know if there’s an option to check on their website, but I just performed a real life test. I could connect both to Swisscom 4G and Sunrise 4G (Salt 4G was also available, didn’t try to connect). On both networks (after registering), I could call the dutch number.
Awesome, thanks! That’s a start, then. I’ll have to check if 2GB is enough as well as my calls consumption. I’ll keep you posted.
