Salt launched a cheaper brand too https://www.go-mo.ch
Just be aware, hotspot/mobile tethering is (probably) not allowed

Yallo Black is also very competitive!
-100 internet points for having a page only in german.
Indeed. I just changed my Yallo subscription to the package Yallo BLACK.
If you want to save one month basic fee, you can register via my Yallo referral link
Unlimited calls in CH
Unlimited data on 5G
Unlimited data roaming on 5G
Contract / notice period: 60 days

They have the page on EN too: Yallo EN
I replied to SwissTeslaBull
about go-mo.ch
Ah sorry, my fault…
Pitty that nobody offers free roaming in Mexico for those sexy prices
I’m still very happy with the Wingo offer for 25.- per month.
You want english? Go to Home en - GoMo
Cool, so now you need to guess the existance of that dropdown? It does exist only if you start from EN/FR/IT. if you pick DE, it will disappear.
Indeed, thank you! Just migrated a couple of family&friends
If you switch from another yallo plan as existing user you have to pay “only” 25 chf
I always wondered if it’s not better to buy a CH-only abo and a prepaid EU sim for data only. Even at 1 eur per day it might be worth doing that, since I’d be using it mostly on weekends or holidays and not all the time
Do you have something in mind or a recommendation for a foreign data SIM?
I use the iOs App of redteago (weird name i know), there i buy prepaid datapackages, for the region/country I travel. Its put in place via an eSim which is activated immediately after the purchase.
You need a Phone (I have the iPhone 12 Mini) with dualsim+eSim in order to run your standard sim + the one of redteago.
GoMo seems to be 4G only.
Depends. I wouldn’t call normal tethering to a notebook on the go a “Spezialanwendung”. Using it as a wireless hotspot for your entire household? Maybe. Providing internet to your whole remote restaurant in the Swiss alps? Certainly.
Me too. I feel like I am paying considerable money every month - for something I hardly use. Though obviously I’ve spent less time abroad since COVID-19.
I’m not quite getting that:
Why would I purchase 1GB/30days for 6 USD, when I can buy 2x 1GB/15days for 2x 1USD?
Thanks for the link. I’m thinking about switching. Currrently with Wingo I have 2GB/month abroad. Yallo uses the Sunrise network, which should be as good as Swisscom.
As someone who has both (Yallo + Swisscom): Swisscom coverage is usually better than Yallo/Sunrise. I had several occassions where Yallo only had UMTS speed or lower. It rarely happened that Yallo had the higher speed.
For the call quality: whenever I try to call someone who’s at Swisscom from Yallo, the quality is just really really bad. Same goes for the other way around, when calling from SC to Yallo. My GF is using Yallo, so I call her from my Yallo card. I don’t know what Swisscom and/or Sunrise are doing, but somehow I have the feeling they intentionally give you a shittier quality if the other person is using a different network. Btw: this happened many times for me, hence I do have both providers. E.g. calling a customer who had SC from my Yallo number: only able to understand every 2nd word, sometimes not hearing anything for 5 seconds. Called the guy from SC, and it was crystal clear. Just my 2 cents.
PS: yes, not a mustachian phone plan, but I need it for my business (and rather have a 2nd network in case the other one is not working)
There are many offers around. I am not sure if they work like a swiss prepaid though.
I always see a monthly cost
