Covid vaccines - First feedback from people already vaccinated and... what do you think about it?

I’m not sure it is simply anti vaccination. If you don’t believe that the virus is harmful to begin with, why would you get vaccinated? (trying to understand another point of view)

Well let’s not forget that the two sides have not the same weight, happily. There is as silent majority, no matter what the noisy demonstrators in France think.

With ICU filling up, and countryside (less immunity through prior infection and vaccine) likely to get hit harder it’s indeed going to be interesting.

Well then either the gym needs to change policy or I will not join the gym which will lose revenue. Vaccine refusers will be damaging business and causing higher tax and welfare costs, in addition to higher health insurance

I would totally be for letting Darwin decide what happens. But:

  1. Health care system overload. Everyone who is working in this field already had a pretty hard time in the last 18 months. People waiting for operations or treatment due full hospitals with Covid-19 sick unvaccined people.

  2. Some people can’t be vaccined and rely on other people being vaccined.

That’s why we can’t just return to normal times without constraints. And that’s why anti-vaxx people are fully accountable for prolonging the whole situation.

The sad thing is if it weren’t for the internet, the whole pandemic would be already over in the Western world.

4.4 million in Switzerland are fully vaccined. There are 7 million adults in Switzerland, so that’s only 63%.

You are saying that you are on the side of the Friends of the constitution and appreciative of the SVP support. Even if every opinion is worthly, I woulnd brag about it… Thoses two populist groups being what Switzerland has the worst to offer in terms of political views (thats only my opinion)

Israel is with over 70% very close to “herd immunity”, but is facing a high spike of infections and also deaths compared to the available stats. Which leads to the question, if there will be something like herd immunity with Covid? Heard reasons for this outbreak because of orthodox people who don’t want to be vaccinated. But I couldn’t find any underlying data for that for Isreal.

I’m not sure if we will ever get to 80-90%.

I respect your views and wish you good luck for the votation on nov 28th

If you don’t trust the medicine to prevent you getting covid, why do you trust it with curing you from it?

I just checked the latest government data. There are 8.61 million people in Switzerland, 7.56 million are 12+ and 7.06 million are 18+. 4.37 million are fully vaccined, 4.86 million got atleast 1 shot.

1 shot: 68.8% of all adults / 64.3% of everyone 12+
fully faccined: 61.9% of all adults / 57.8% of everyone 12+

I think we need at least 6.35 million fully vaccined people (90% of all adults and 84% of everyone 12+) to end this.

So how do you convince 2 million people that didn’t get vaccined yet? It seems that the only way is indirectly forcing them.

Hit them where it hurts the most: their wallet. Make the certificate mandatory for every public place (besides outdoors) and let them pay for the test to get the 48-72h certificate.

You think people will stop going to clubs, restaurants, gyms, football games etc.? Don’t think so. Everyone wants a social life.

Another way is by being forced to have a certiticate for showing up at work.

You may be right, we can live without restaurant, fitness center, travel, shopping centers and so on…
But do not forget, not everybody is a frugal mustachian.

Again, you are different than most of the society.

People don’t go to the gym because they can’t afford a home gym. They want social interaction. They don’t go to restaurants because they can’t cook, they want to have a nice evening with friends and family (again social interaction).

Silicon valley companies are already enforcing it. Swiss announced it too, others will follow. Where will those anti-vaxx people work if they refuse to get vaccined? Cutting wood in the forest?

Working out in the gym while wearing a mask sucks. Wearing a mask between each bite in the restaurants sucks. The measurements made those things less enjoying, that’s why less people visited those places. I don’t think the certficate will do the same.

Quality of the politicians are based on the interest of the population  . Currently the majority of the spanish society interest are shown (check the most watched TV shows) screaming, lying, things that requires 10 IQ and so on bullshit.

Personally, I’d strongly question the medical knowledge and insight of any hospital employee refusing to get vaccinated. It’s like entering a plane with a pilot that doesn’t believe in gravity.
