Does that mean that in 2 years when I want to obviously cancel this plan because there’s absolutely no need to pay 70.-/month for such a plan that I don’t even have to deal with registered letters to quickline and I can just signup to a plan with another provider with a transition for that date and that’s it? Seems quite an easy way to avoid paying them anything other than the 40.- activation fee.
I’ve been using Digitec Connect Galaxus Mobile since 3 months, coming from Wingo and can tell the network coverage has been a big pain. Main change I noticed is that at my workplace there is literally no coverage in the building inside, and the other things I remark the network is often saturated, the consequence is often youtube videos are buffering when I stream in high resolution and from time to time, i see the green banner at the bottom of the youtube screen “Back Online”, meaning that sometimes it literally loose. I’m a quite poweruser, using like 50GB data /month. Previously this buffering experience didn’t existed almost with Wingo.
But yeah I had to switch to Galaxus because I had a “lifetime” Black Friday Voucher from 2019 that expired this year due to the new abos and policy. Otherwise I would come back to Wingo without thinking twice.
In the meantime, me too I subscribed to the new Quickline Abo, but on my second prepaid SIM card, and my strategy is to mainly use it for the roaming (20GB abroad + calls in EU), since I have a dual SIM on my phone it’s the perfect combo.
I hope my contribution helps you make an informative decision
Meanwhile I’m sharing some BlackFriday Offers I found interesting, since this was the main topic of this thread:
- Interrail: 25 % on most of the EU passes - Journeys that make a difference
- GoPro: best deal I’ve seen so far is for GoPro 10, great value for 199 CHF
That would be correct. Changing mobile phone provider is actually super easy since the new provider will take over the cancellation for you. You just have to sign the new contract early enough.
FYI for those thinking about switching Internet/TV/Mobile providers I noticed that from TWINT deals there are basically all the same Black Friday deals (Sunrise, Yallo etc) but they link to this alao.ch site, which then handles stuff for you + includes a voucher on top. For example for Sunrise home Internet it’s the same price as in the Sunrise website + 150.- voucher.
It doesn’t include the quickline offer (expected) but for all others on a quick look it seems good. I had never heard of this website and I will have a better look when I have time but maybe other people know more.
Quickline free mobile offer is now over
My wife spent too long looking the gift horse in the mouth and missed it
Now at 50% only.
(20c)
“Unlucky”. I checked like 2 hours ago and it was still up.
It still lasted a couple of days though.
You probably just saved me 150 chf, thank you
If you first go via Rabattcorner to alao.ch you get 15-35 CHF cashback on top. I have a Rabattcorner referral code to get both people an additional 5 CHF, PM me if anyone wants it
My conclusion on home internet: best offer available in my area is Sunrise “Up Home L” internet + TV. With the above discounts it works out 33 CHF/ month (24 months x 39.95 -150 -25 )
I currently have Sunrise at 40 CHF / m. They offered to renew at 49.95 /m and refused to match the Black Friday offer despite my insistence. Identical discussion 2 years ago, we canceled and switched contract names between my wife. I guess I will do the same
I never saw Apple stuff on discount, but here Christ is doing something:
Also Suunto, and some classic watches (Seiko, Hamilton, TAG Heuer, Tissot are decent brands)
It would be interesting to understad how apple achieved it to be (probably) the only consumer electric brand that isnt a black friday victim.
not to go too offtopic here, but their brand is based on being a premium product and they kind of flip around the concept of being expensive as a good thing. Having Black Friday sales would eat into that argument/brand.
To contribute to the thread, Amazon DE has the AirTag 4 pack for less than 90€ which is an all time low according to toppreise. I ordered a set for myself as I only have 2 from the first 4 pack I got. I didn’t lose them as that would be ironic, I just gave them to family.
Creating desirable products (and sometimes vendor lock-ins) coupled with low retailer margins.
That said, there are quite a few black friday deals on Apple products, especially their laptops, today.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this thread.
I signed up for the quickline offer and will transfer from my existing sunriseXL subscription when my contract expires in March 2024. I live in Geneva and find that the sunrise coverage is ok (not as good as Swisscom but even Swisscom works less well in some parts of Wallis than it used to which has been explained to me to be due to new limitations that have been imposed on their 5G antennas).
I used to have a combined TV/Internet subscription with Sunrise negotiated at a very advantageous price, which they refused to renew. Having spent hours on the phone with their customer service every month for 8 months to get them to implement the correct pricing, I am quite happy to be rid of them even if I regret the tv/100mbit price of chf 23 (I pay 61 for their mobile XL package).
Currently I am hot-spotting at home but find that it cuts out too often. I have the free data card but lent the dongle with the card to a friend who needs it. I liked the convenience of things like back-ups running automatically so I want to find a new internet offer.
Thanks to this thread I found dschungelkompass.ch which also ranks internet offers. There is a black Friday offer from Teleking that comes out to chf 8.17/ month for internet only with 20mbit/s up/download.
I live alone so there is rarely more than one user. Do you think that would be enough for one smalltime retired user who at most streams films and surfs at the same time? Has anyone heard of Teleking? They have slightly more expensive offers (chf 9.92 for 50 mbit and chf 11.08 for 100 mbit) but if 20mbit is adequate for my limited needs I might as well go with that.
Reading this it seems silly to bicker about chf3/month for the speed. I guess I am more concerned with Teleking as it will be a challenge for me to interact with them in German if there are problems.
Thank you for any guidance you can provide.
I took teleking for my sport club association. They speak french and were very reliable. It works perfectly.
Have a look on yallo offer. 34.90 for max speed on TV cable. But check if available at your adress.
i signed up on the quicklink contract but have not received any followup mail or message.
Has anyone started the process?
I did the ID verification and sent them the signed “Vollmacht für die Nummernportierung”. Then I got two automatic emails, one saying they got it and another one saying the order was in progress. No emails since then or any bills but I also will only start using their services in January when my number gets migrated.
Edit: Just got an email replying to my initial question confirming that the only bill will be 40.- for 24 months, and that the cancellation period is 3 months.
They also asked me to provide the ID from my home country, so it seems like the deal is up.
I got an immediate sms with an order number and an email with a link to download an app for the ID verification plus an attachment to be returned by snail mail to transfer the phone number. Since then no news but my start date will be in March so I should be at the bottom of their pile.
UPDATE: Now received an SMS informing that due to the large number of orders, there are delays in activating mobile subscriptions. Not a problem for me as I only move over in March.
All my friends are making fun of me for falling for a scam but I remain optimistic
Yes, got as well the e-mails and the sms. Yesterday I got the confirmation by sms, that my new subscription will start by my desired date.
Already got the new physical sim card (sadly, I missed the e-sim option since I was in a rush at that specific Monday morning, but anyways, could be worser).
@Anna, let them make fun of you, you will save two years on mobile subsciption, which is nice, eh?
I only have the confirmation via Mail and SMS but no other communication.
I called the support center and (a really helpful woman) looked into my files and told me that i should have gotten more infos, but they have a lot of new users so i might take some more days.
I have a prepaid number so this should be a quick thing…
