I had Salt and Sunrise and both have extremely slow internet compared to Swisscom. It‘s not only about getting a 4G/5G connection, it‘s about latency and speed. Never again.

This is absolutely marvellous! Thank you very much!
I’ve done it now and it works perfectly, now it’s time to try it!
Same experience here. I’ve tried many options from Yallo, Sunrise, Salt, Wingo, and Swisscom.
I’m now switching from Sunrise’s 12.50 CHF 5G “We Connect Surf” (which I think was recently on sale for 5 CHF!) to Wingo’s 22.95 CHF plan. Despite being 4G, with Wingo I get ~400 Mbps stable speeds at my location, compared to Sunrise’s sluggish ~50 Mbps 5G. While 50 Mbps should in theory suffice, Sunrise often struggles during video calls for me, especially at peak times. And yeah, Wingo/Swisscom also beats Yallo/Sunrise on train commutes.
Btw, for those unable to activate the ZSCWIN5G11 free 5G promo: If you have another 5G promo (e.g., the 5 CHF instead of 10 CHF), that might explain it and you might need to switch to a 22.95 CHF plan without the promo. It activated for me the next day, finally letting me apply the free 5G upgrade. I also gained 3GB roaming data (up from 2GB) on the new plan, though I may have lost roaming calls (which I anyway don’t need). Note though that the promo code could expire, so proceed cautiously.
And another important bonus with Wingo is that you can also get a free second SIM, which is great for using one on your phone and another in a router, potentially replacing copper/fiber if the connection is good enough at your location.
Thanks! I have added the code and got a message confirming that it was added to my contract. When I go to My Wingo >> My options it says Full Speed 5 G active 10.-/month and renewed in 02.01.2025 when I click on it it says amount: free
I have an Iphone 7
need to upgrade it to an Iphone 12 to get 5G ![]()
Is it location specific or throughout Switzerland?
It is because the offer is now expired. I guess I’ll try again next year!
Just call them and tell them you’ll quit and switch to Yallo otherwise. You get free 5G with Wingo all year round if you ‘ask’ firmly (experience from friends).
I just activated it 2 minutes ago, it still works.
Also my experience. Wingo 4G feels much faster than Salt/Sunrise 5G, let alone 4G. I often had 10-30Mbps with 4G/5G in trains. Now solid 200-300Mbps on my commute.
Yep, though 24.95 CHF with free 5G is still better than 22.95 CHF + 10 CHF for 5G.
Also, I doubt there’s a need to wait till next year, many of these promos seem to be quite frequent (once a month or so).
Yeah, I suppose it indeed might be undesired, but based on messages like this one it doesn’t seem it’s ever a problem.
+1 definitely worth doing!
To show that comparison is the thief of joy, I was happy with my Sunrise Mobile Q Abo (unlimited calls, unlimited roaming calls, unlimated data, unlimited roaming data) but now you make me feel that the connection speed should be faster!
Wingo now offer a promo code to waive activation fee of CHF 59 : ZSCFREED24
Nice webpage to keep in mind, thank you ! ![]()

This seems to be a reasonable option if one absoultely doesn’t want init7

My partner has a Yallo Mobile subscription for CHF ~25. Last week she called the sales hotline and asked for a discount on the same subscription (because I have the same, but cheaper). The sales hotline said that Yallo no longer offers such big discounts. Five minutes later, she called the cancellation hotline and worked out a deal: 40% discount if she rates the hotline employee well in the survey afterwards. The deal proposal came from the hotline employee.
I experienced similar situations before and it makes totally sense from an economical perspective. They save time and money by not arguing with customers that will stay even without a better offer.
From a consumer perspective it’s intransparent, however as soon as you got to know the game, you can probably get better deals* than the average consumer in a fully transparent world. ![]()
*as your own subscription prices illustrates well
I just moved in a brand new apartment which require Wifi to control pretty much everything (like thermostat, lights, blinds).
Till now i didn’t have any wifi and did everything with the hotspot, but now i’m looking for a cheap internet solution.
I found something called Green.ch
Do you guys have any experience with them ? Is this worth it ? I found an offer for 1Gbit/s for 16.45 chf/month…
Let me know, appreciate your help!
Check the details! The low price is only in the first 12 months but you have to stay for 24.
Over 24months you’ll pay 1087.20 in total which is 45.3 CHF/month.
I would go with Galaxus instead (10Gbit, 39.-/month or cheaper if you have other family/friends members + 79.- activation). Will be cheaper, more flexible and faster.
My experience with Digital Republic has been very good so far.
