Thanks a lot for composing this!
Micro-tip: Might be more glanceable in a table format (or bullet points at least).

What if I open a Jeunesse account at CEA for my son and park my money there ? 1.5% interest rate and 3 months notice. Looks good ?

If 100k is the maximum you would put there, and I suspect many of us are dealing with a smaller cash position assuming the strategies that are emphasized on this forum,

I don’t get how chasing a few hundreds by adding complexity, contracts, paper work, children proxy, is a great deal.

Especially when it’s time-limited, and you should as well cancel everything afterwards.

That is unless you consider these positions not as cash (pretty illiquid as a matter of fact), but as bonds. Then you’ll easily end up north of 100k.

I’d say 100k insured at 1% interests sounds better than most actual low-risk bonds in CHF right now.

Well that’s my case, I just felt I was outside the clique :joy:

What is the catch of Baloise “Sparen Bonus” with 0.75% interest?

  • No opening, account and closure fees.
  • 15k CHF free withdrawal per month.
  • 1 month notice for >15k CHF.
  • No fees for bank transfer, which is unusual for saving accounts.

It can be almost considered as a standard account, because of the short notice period of 1 month.

Sounds like a promotional offer. It’s not bad but don’t expect them to pay a higher than usual interest rate long term.

Just a 4yi: It is now possible to open a Coop Depositenkasse Konto directly from internet with their App. Interests are 0.4%pa with a block for 6months.

there was a time when these societies paid higher interest than standard savings accounts with good banks. There was a time i had about 80k with such societies (including real estate societies). These days are over
its not worth it, especially considering the credit risk you take.

Ok. Let me know which banks gives you 0.4% then.
Edit: little help here https://www.moneyland.ch/en/best-interest-rates-switzerland

Any idea if Coop offers comes with eSuisse guarantee?

It doesn’t offer that. I wonder what else would happen if Coop suddenly goes bankrupt. I might be more scared of that tbh.
