Internet connection trouble (solved... or is it?)

Usually not as fast as regular LAN cables but often reliable enough for their application. I use a Powerline set to provide Internet to my car in the basement. Gets around 50 Mbps out of the 1000 Mbps I have from my internet but it’s also an older Model (iirc 2015 or so).

To do what? internet updates?

Genuine quesiton.

Yep, updates and controlling it e.g pre-heating or checking the charging state (it’s a Tesla Model S)

Cool. My VW in the basement doesn’t need internet. It feels like ancient technology, but it’s only a few years old…

But 50Mbps would be a good result for me. My subscription atm is for 100, so 50% of that everywhere would be absolutely fine. Most important for me is reliability, it’s kind of embarrassing to be the guy with internet troubles during video calls…

Since the original poster got a hoard of useless tips, I wanna chime in here.

I have the exact same problem. To the point where WiFi is practically useless.

I’ve had Salt Fiber for years. Worked fine until a couple months ago.

Connection via cable is fine. I even installed a cable to my office in the attic after moving.

After moving, it worked fine again (factory reset) for a couple weeks, but now useless again.

Band steering off doesn’t solve the problem.

After moving, I wired every possible device. I’m even thinking about replacing the printer. However, for phone and iPad I need a reliable WiFi.

I will call them and try to get a new router. If not, then I’m off to Yallo.

FYI, I disabled 2 GHz and moved all my devices to 5 GHz. It works fine for most use cases.

I have a number of devices that don’t support 5 GHz. So that’s not an option for me.
