For me UBS to IBKR has always been next day. Mainly because UBS processes payments the next day.
If I do same day UBS before 11 AM it often only takes 1-2 hours too.
The indian gentleman from IBKR confirmed that the payment was not received on their end.
I had to start an inquiry on Postfinance. Also, my IBKR ticket was forwarded to the Cashier department for review.
I am getting a bit nervous.
Absolutely understandable. Iād be on edge as well.
I know this doesnāt help you now, but what I always do in such cases is I send a small (CHF 100 or so) payment first to see if everything works, before sending a five or six figure sum.
In other news IBKR is back to negative rates above 100kCHF deposited
Seeing -0.42% (IBKR Pro) and -1.42 (IBKR Lite) today.
Good news, my margin interest rate will be reduced as well ![]()
Do they go below 0% with their benchmark?
I was thinking of the future, meaning if we get say -0.5% negative SNB rates, woudl IB do -0.5% + 1.5%, net 1% interest or, do they cap it at 0% + 1.5% ?
If the latter, then Iād probably switch to USD or do box spreads.
Iām already deep in margin with them ![]()
And in addition the minimum interest is 0.75% according to their web you get that already at CHF 900k debt: Margin Rates and Financing | Interactive Brokers LLC
That is 33% more than at IB⦠![]()
But more loan means more potential upside ![]()
Last update on the matter: the money was credited on the 1st August (!) around 13h.
According to the inquiry answer from Postinance, the payment was wired the same day (25.07), while citibank received it 5 days later (after I opened the inquiry).
It is not clear to me who/what is the culprit of such a delay, but I am not happy since it is supposed to be a ālocalā transfer (and Iāll have to pay 30 CHF).
Next time, Iāll avoid the same day transfer with Postfinance even if I am not sure thatās the root cause of this incident.
Is it just me* or is everyone with IB accounts getting warning emails with regards Phishing from IB (āremember to think before you clickā), approximately every 10 days, for at least about 2-3 months now IIRC? Sending at this frequency, it seems thereās quite a wave of cases? Has anyone had an IB phishing attempt?
* I may be deemed in a more risk-prone age category for phishing than the young uns in this forum. ![]()
- Ja, same same
- No, less / never
- I get this warning even more often than every 10 days
TWS is the most fully featured and I love the efficient traditional interface of TWS Classic, but for basic trading, I just use the IBKR Mobile app on my phone. This is very fast and streamlined. Sometimes, I can be done before TWS has finished loading.
Iām glad your money finally arrived. This may be a stupid question: What does Citibank have to do with this? When making deposits, IBKR asks me to transfer the money to a UBS account.
Maybe the DTC participant: What Is the Depository Trust Company (DTC) in Banking?.
More out of curiosity to learn something: Why is an american trust Company needed for a local CHF transaction? From the customerās perspective weāre talking about Postfinance to UBS:
Postfinance (local, holder: retail customer) --> UBS (local, holder: IBKR US) --> IBKR (non local)
Maybe Citibank is between UBS and IBKR? But I have expected that this would no longer be relevant for the customer and that IBKR book the money as soon as it arrived at UBS.
For me, the IBKR CHF account is actually at Citibank, not at UBS.

Or at least it was at some point this year. Maybe something has changed or not all IBKR accounts use the same CHF account for deposits.
Oh, that explains why Citibank is involved. Interesting, I make 1 deposit per month, and until now it has always been to an UBS account (I have only been an IBKR customer since January 2025).
Maybe there are differences in how IBKR handles this ![]()
I even wondered if those mails might be a phishing attempt themselves.
Make them look legit enough, spam enough to hit some customers and make them go unsubscribe via the mail and conveniently log into in with their credentials to change their notification settings.
