Crypto.com cash/cryptoback credit card

Thanks for the summary. I think that article was not as clear as your summary.
The “staking” thing is more clear now. I might have to read about it on how/why it works this way.

Hey @MrCheese
So i just stake the minimum Cro let say the Ruby card with crypto.com App and the rest of the cro i earn on Crypto.org DefiWallet right?

Unfortantly it will be not possible with Cardano. I wil try with crypto Exchange sugered by @SwissTeslaBull

I have to do some research !

Exactly.

Cardano (Token ADA) has nothing to do with crypto.com (Token CRO)

I just noticed that you can get a Jade (or higher!) card without stacking. The only difference other than the CRO-back is that you get only the lounge access. I was thinking it’s still a good offer as a card for a partner, so that she/he/it can get access to the lounge without the need to get a more expensive card.

The only downside I see is that you still have to use the card from time to time or you have to pay an inactivity fee, which is btw. not 100% clear when it happens.

Any thoughts/experience about it?

Staking using crypto defi wallet works as expected.

CRO from the app to the defi app was really easy.

Only the Midnight Blue is free without staking, for the higher cards you have to stake for 180 days. After 180 days you can unstake them and get the reduced benefits.

Btw my card is still Issued and not Shipped two weeks later.

Revolut is definitely faster

I didn’t find it written anywhere.
I’m 80% sure some of their un-userfriendly tricks might be illegal in EU.
Where did you see those prices?

Me too, I am waiting for my icy white for over four weeks now but my wife got her jade green one last week. So much for pay to win. At least the customer support is nicer in the upper tiers

You can’t apply for a card without staking, it says on the cards section:
How do I apply for a Crypto.com Visa Card?
You need to stake CRO tokens for a period of 180 days to apply for a Crypto.com Visa Card.”

It also wouldn’t make much sense to offer the Midnight Blue card, if you could just apply for the Obsidian without staking and get the double cashback rewards.

But I agree, their entire user interface and information placement is not user friendly and quite cluttered.

that thing is my issue.

Maybe it means that you must stake once and after that if you unstake you have less perks.

Yes, exactly.

How do I apply for a Crypto.com Visa Card?
You need to stake CRO tokens for a period of 180 days to apply for a Crypto.com Visa Card.

You stake for 180 days and get all the staking benefits that come with your chosen card tier. After 180 days, you can either leave your stake as-is (= keep all benefits) or unstake (= keep only non-staking benefits).

I’m somewhat certain that one has to actively restake after those 180 days.

You don’t. You stake, and unless you actively un-stake everything stays as it is. I.e. it stays staked after 180 days.

Source: I received my Royal Indigo card in May 2020 and never touched the stake until last month.

The difference after 180 days is that you CAN keep staking and it’s not mandatory. But as soon as you unstake you loose your benefits. It’s the same with SwissBorg.

Given the price would be higher i would try to unstake and stake again the “3.5 euro” with much less CRO :stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s hope. I’ve already lost a good chunk. :frowning:
No CC in sight yet.

Are you going to add your CRO’s (and rewards) to your tax report or just keep it as play money to wash later using the CC?

Edit: I’m planning to add them, just wondering how to declare the staking rewards here. On the other side, how they differ from Coop Supercard Points, which are imo, tax free?

:joy: I was thinking about this the other day

Can you convert CRO back to cash on a secondary market? That would be a difference between the 2 and would make CRO more like a currency

I agree superpoints could also be argued to be an asset but noone is going to bother you
