Coronavirus: when do we reach the bottom of the dip?

ECB in 20 minutes. Will they save us?

Probably not. Futures market halted again.

It’s not yet at 110-130%.
In Ticino is around 20-40% for the intensive care unit on the specially organised hospital. I suppose in the rest of Switzerland is still lower. They might reach 100% in the next days maybe. Let’s hope not.

If I’m not mistaken Basel-Stadt places the limit at 1.1 times the sum that you owe them. Above that, no interests.

That’s precisely the problem. And there is no vaccine, the only line of defense is trying to slow down the spreading.

The virus will not leave dead people on the streets like in some horror movie. But our healthcare system could collapse, our industry, our supply chains for even the most basic things.

We don’t have a backup for every doctor, nurse, engineer, truck driver, etc.

Swiss travel ban (like Italy) coming in on Monday maybe.

Sorry if I reply to defend myself, but really the virus is not that horrible.
The workforce population is not the one suffering from it, so the economy can have a slowdown but not a stop (people getting sick after 2-3 weeks of isolation can come back to work). The impact on the health system can be enormous, then the governments should decide if they want it to collapse or perhaps it’s better to “treat” the elderly with 2-3 other conditions at home. I really can’t understand why an old man is allowed to die from flu but not from covid-19 complications

The old man can get vaccinated against influenza, like all the others.

But not against this new virus.

Where is this one coming from? any source?

I did not mean the capacity of the hospitals I am talking about working hours of the hospital personnel, doctors and nurses. They do over hours on a normal basis, now they do even more hours.

No one says that the virus is horrible, Sars was horrible, the spanish flu was horrible, Ebola is horrible, but Corona has the potential to bring a society system to collapse. Look at germany they decided to stop delivery of masks to Switzerland, even those that were not even meant for Germany but for import to Switzerland. If it get’s really bad, they will also stop delivery for other goods for example food supply for animals such as cows, pigs etc. Our Society is vulnerable to a virus like corona not because it is a deadly killer virus but because it can spread while keeping it’s carrier healthy and mobile.

If corona would mostly affect the working age, we would not have seen such a world wide spreading. Everyone would be sick at home.

My comments are based on news article or expert comments you find in newspapers.

You can’t treat these people at home! They need intensive care and respirators! I can’t believe I read so many people writing comments dismissing the seriousness of the issue because it does not directly affect their age group. It’s an epidemic of selfishness.

Lol, what? I plan to go skiiing in Austria this weekend (bookedlong ago, wouldn’t go if it wasn’t). What’s your source? I honestly don’t see the point of this lockdown. Switzerland is no better, no worse than most other European countries, we’re in the same boat. What difference does it make if you cross the border or not?

The more you go around and socialise, the easier for the virus to reach every single one corner of the continent. That’s what difference it makes.

Last Friday, I estimated 1000 infected people by this Sunday. Until Wednesday/Thursday next week it will be 2000, without any travel ban as in Italy I estimate around 4000 until Sunday in a Week, Austria might not let you in anymore.

Still don’t get it. There are already sick people in Austria, probably a lot more than officially detected. So what if I can’t go there, if all the Austrians can? The same inside Switzerland: so what if Germans, French etc can’t come? We already got sick people walking the streets. I don’t see how it makes anything better.

I had to cancel my planned trips to Austria.
Some ski resorts like Ischgl are closing early because of the current Corona Situation.

Thanks, I will give a call to the hotel to find out.

It’s time to lock the thread and open a new one. It’s hard to save new messages now

About the lockdown, he probably meant the lockdown, not the closing borders.
Which means no more cinema, going to mediamarkt to buy a stupid tv and so on
