Just came across this article . I had no clue that there are talks about UBS relocating out of Switzerland

Maybe they should relocate to India - I hear most of their IT department moved there already :stuck_out_tongue:

Nowhere near a buy signal yet, mine is -20% from ATH for QQQ.

They’ve always been separate - there is a UBS Switzerland, and there is a UBS Everywhere-Else. They could cut the latter loose anytime.

More like after 2008, if I remember correctly.

probably you’re right. 2008 as like
 forever ago

Germany comes close to issuing a travel warning for the US given recent arbitrary detentions of tourists:

BERLIN (Reuters) - Germany updated its travel advisory for the United States to emphasise that a visa or entry waiver does not guarantee entry for its citizens after several Germans were detained at the border recently, a foreign ministry spokesperson said.

The ministry updated its travel advice website for the U.S. on Tuesday to clarify that neither approval through the U.S. ESTA system nor a U.S. visa entitles entry in every case.

Some 18m Americans work in the tourism industry.

SNB interest rates were just reduced to 0.25%.

Will be interesting to see whether e.g. Yuh tries to ‘keep an advantage’ by offering 0.1% interest now.

Looks like time for savings account hopping is over.

The question is where would money lying in savings accounts across CH will go

  • stay there
  • move to RE funds
  • Move to Equities

Could port fees tank US coal stocks and give a buying opportunity?

(soft?) paywall, what where the important points?

Mostly that it’s both an FX move + stock move (so non-US investors are seeing even more losses).

Another day another 1% drop in the portfolio:

Yeaah, it’s great pain! My VT holdings are not even 10% down in Euro terms, it is painful to buy more VT when it did not go down enough

I came across this page and I thought it could be interesting for you

TDLR -: Foreigners own 61.5 Trillion of US assets while US owns 37.9 Trillion of International assets. Net 23.60 Trillion difference.
Opinion -: It seems one of the reasons for this gap is trade deficit because US has net deficit to the world which means that when exUS ends up with USD they got from US sales, there is nowhere else to park this money but in US assets.

Idk what to tell you anymore

Don’t market time, stay invested, don’t leverage if you are not comfortable with the drawdowns and selling low, and have an asset allocation you are comfortable with at all times.
