I made the mistake of buying Ultima VII at the same time as Ultima Underground and ended up playing just UU and wasted £50 on U VII which I never really played at all.
(and I had to stop playing UU when I started dreaming running around FPS in a dungeon)

A clumsy way of saving I paid more (100) few years ago than what I now sold it for (75, minus some fees) 
Once it’s just collecting dust, it’s time to go. Sale price is unlikely to go up over time.

Re PS5, given I got the PS4 just 7 months ago I am considering keeping it and then switching to PS6 when it comes. PS6 should play all of PS5’s library. Getting a PS5 now…I wouldn’t pay more than 150

Just switched to Linux (Bazzite) for my gaming pc not long ago and besides some tweaks here and there it is really good. It feels nice to have a pc not bloated with windows.
Does someone here has the steam controller ? if so how good is it ?

I’m a gamer myself and part of me wanting to FIRE is so that I can finally learn paradox strategy games and finish them… HOI4, CK3, Stellaris, etc.
On a serious note: I think gaming is a really cheap hobby if you just stay humble. I’m still on FHD with 144Hz and my PC is quite old but does the job really, really well.
My lock-in game back in the day was Rune Scape - never bought premium - my friends used the library phone to do so, these mfs
My trick is to play games that are ancient. That way, my machine specs are awesome compared to the recommended specs are release date.

Sold my 5950X and RTX3090 for CHF 230 and CHF 860 each and bought a 5800X3D and RTX5080 for CHF 320 and CHF 1070 each. It was a very nice upgrade for CHF 300 and I’m also in the process of selling 2x32GB DDR4-3600 RAM for CHF 300 (had 4 sticks, absolute overkill) which would make the whole upgrade basically free.

I‘ll start a Cyberpunk 2077 replay this week. I want to experience it with my new OLED monitor (Alienware AW3426DW). But first I‘ll play Halo Campaign Evolved with an old friend I met through playing Halo 2 online…over 20 years ago.
That 6 year old hardware is still more powerful than my machine!

My PSU is only 750W though, so the next upgrade would probably mean a bigger PSU and a better GC in maybe 5+y

I’m kicking myself for cancelling the RTX Pro 6000 I ordered for 6’500 Fr. Cost is now 11’000 
I’m committed to consoles, ever since buying a second hand PS4 in Christmas. I will get the PS6 when it comes out, getting everything in PS4-6’s library. The practicality and the fact that games just…work switched me to consoles.
