I agree with xerox above. Personally, I only use Alpian for their FX rates (0.2% markup on the interbank rate is top tier), I change CHF-EUR with Alpian and send it to Yuh.
I tried using Alpian as my daily bank (only for daily expenses and travels, not salary and bills) but a few things made me stop using it:
The dates of transaction are usually off by 1 or 2 days. A purchase made on october 20th will appear as if made on october 21st in the app. I track my expenses, so this grinds my gears. Also it’s embarassing when you have a work related expense and it’s the wrong date.
You don’t get push notifications for transactions, which can be a security issue. Add to that the absence of a TWINT app (just too useful for sending money to friends or colleagues) and no free cash withdrawls, Alpian is just behind compared to Yuh for example.
Way, and I insist, way too much spam mail for referrals or “special interest offers” such as the refer a friend and win 100CHF or the extremely annoying “put 125’000CHF into your account and get 1.4% interest!”. At some point it felt like they were sending these emails every week.
The new UI looks good though, and I like the direction they took with their “plans” (you don’t pay to get the superior plan, you get the superior plan if you meet their conditions, which is a great way of doing it and not like Neon did).
I wasn’t expecting so much negativity. I myself had an issue in paying a QR for some reasons. I think I wrote about it somewhere on this thread. I’ve read that Alpian is also a bank and don’t use any other bank so I kind of expect some issues here and there. I just wish they become more popular and maybe surpass neon, since it feels more serious to me. Neon is a bit toyish with their gen-whatever slang, which remind where society is heading.(I’m a bit biased because I really don’t like neon\s SBB bug which should be threated more seriously imho).
Although Alpian offers eBill, it’s of limited use to me. Due to a formally incorrect IBAN (as confirmed by the SIX IBAN checker), I occasionally encounter issues with transferring money
Not sure if Alpian still handles this things like that; could be, that they have an internal account, which is only an internal used IBAN and invalid to the public. But this is just a wild guess.
I have transferred money in and out of Alpian account without issue.
The only time I had a problem was that when I transferred to IBKR they asked for proof of payment because somehow for them Alpian was not official financial institution. I believe this is because Alpian uses ach mode and then funds were released after 4 days cooling period. That’s all
I have a CHF balance, I bought stuff in GBP and EUR, it reads as a negative balance now.
I suppose it will settle but it’s kinda annoying. Radicant immediately deducted the CHF in the app but would leave an icon to show it was preliminary and would settle a couple days later or so.
Funnily enough it does show the total (not the CHF account, that remains) as some estimate of the exchange, because it’s lower by the amount Google suggest the negative balances sum to in CHF.
It did, but it takes several days and I cannot tell what the actual FX is because I don’t know which day it takes, the original or when it settles, if it is the latter and that falls on a weekend that would kind of suck.
I will try how it works with exchanging in advance, though I don’t like doing that.
Whenever I try to send USD from Alpian to IBKR, I get a request to provide separately a confirmation of payment. And post that funds are on hold for 4 working days (this part might be standard for ACH transfers)
However I was not sure why IBKR is blocking funds and asking for proof. Following is the reason

Your bank might be using service of payment processor (Currency cloud) to transfer these funds.
Based on our extensive operational experience, we have identified consistent issues with transfers originating from Currency cloud. Specifically, Currency cloud transfers frequently omit critical reference information in the payment details that is essential for proper account crediting. This systematic omission has resulted in a high rate of transfer rejections and delayed processing.
In response to these recurring issues, we have implemented specialized verification procedures for Currency cloud transfers to protect our clients from potential fund rejections and the associated delays in account funding.
Recommended Banking Practice - Interactive Brokers strongly recommends initiating transfers from traditional banking institutions that fully support complete payment detail transmission. As a standard security practice, IBKR requires that all deposits originate from bank accounts registered in your name that match your IBKR account registration.
This policy serves to:
• Ensure regulatory compliance with anti-money laundering regulations
• Facilitate prompt and accurate crediting of your deposits
• Minimize the risk of transfer rejections and delays
• Maintain the security of our financial ecosystem
Should you choose to proceed with a Currency cloud transfer despite these known limitations, please be particularly diligent in verifying that all required reference information is included in your transfer instructions and consider reaching out to Currency cloud’s or your bank’s customer service to confirm their ability to include the necessary details with your specific transfer.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure the smooth processing of your financial transactions.
was already free but you need to invest 1000 per month or to keep 150000 or for salary it was a montly payment of 7000.
But pending the 2025 annual report to know where they are, to see the number of customers from radicant they will be able to retain. Also not sure of the impact of the bank Reyl is now under Intesa at 100%, they expect to cut some positions in geneva and changed the board.
