Ya but you should get money for that. So in the end it should work out more or less to the same, the only annoying thing is that it is not consolidated.
I get money, I doubt I get 16% of max AVS tho (which is what Iâll lose).
The rules have recently changed to allow you to work beyond retirement age and continue to contribute to AHV.
Yeah, but not sure I want to continue working after 65 esp. if a low income/easy job doesnât cut it, it needs to be at least 40% of my avg and my avg is quite high, my goal is to retire early
Deferring AVS might make sense tho (but itâs not the same thing as closing the contribution gap).

AHV is already under-funded. If you put a cap on contributions the situation will get even worse.
Another option is to marry a young high earning partner and benefit from their AHV contributions
