Which ticker for Vanguard FTSE All-World ETF is it VWRA?

Hello all,

nice to be part of this group!

I am looking to purchase the Vanguard FTSE All-World ETF. On Interactive Brokers it is showing as VWRA - VANG FTSE AW USDA 1D-EBS and the price is displayed in CHF

Is this the correct ETF?

Also does it make any difference which exchange I use?

Many thanks!

Different exchanges have different costs, which you can find in IBKRs overview.
Also, different tickers might have different currencies (Amsterdam/Frankfurt = EUR, London GBP)
You can use this to avoid exchange costs, but EBS for instance has higher stock exchange costs.

Any reason you are not buying VT?

Hi SwissMousse, as a Swiss national don’t we require to invest in UCITS to avoid US withholding tax and estate tax?

thanks!

Nope, that’s only a requirement for EU citizens.

As a Swiss resident, you can deduct US withholding tax from what Swiss taxes you would have paid on those dividends.

Thanks for your reply - I am a Swiss national. Does this apply to me as well?

It is about being a Swiss resident, not a Swiss national that is decisive.
As an EU resident, you are not able to invest in US ETFs (without tricks), because of missing documentation.
As a Swiss resident, you can and you are able to deduct the withholding tax.
Estate tax is a different topic, please search some other forum posts for detailed explanation.
