Which is your VIAC strategy?

This is something you have to decide for yourself. Based on your target strategy.

I don’t have a clear target strategy. Just some balanced exposure to mister market. Could you recommend any reading?

The viac global 100 allocation is far from MSCI world allocation and invest 40% into SMI or SPI.
You select the custom strategy to have a more balanced portfolio.

I tend to consider the global strategies good enough, while the individual strategies have more use if you are trying to optimize where you hold which assets between taxable and 3a accounts.

40% exposure to CH sounds like too much. When I will have a better understanding I will switch to “individual strategy” and get more MSCI world exposure. Thanks

That also depends on your global portfolio, it means across all asset classes and investment vehicles (brokers, funds).

It depends on your own allocation on all your asset in your portofolio. It also depends on how you see your plan investment.

As an example: I invest in VT and in VIAC Global 100 on all my 4 accounts (5th next year). Since my contribution investment is higher on my 3a than my 2nd pilar and since my investment in VT will be higher than my investment in my 3a and 2nd for the next years, I consider that I don’t need to change my strategy on my 3a. Moreover, I also want a simple straight to go investment strategy and I don’t mind to overoptimize my allocation.

Good luck on your strategy!

Hi all,
I’ve been investing into viac ober the last two years. I’ve been using the VIAC Global 60 without bonds.

I’m considering moving into a more equity heavy Position of Global 100 but it too seems Switzerland heavy.

Do you folks use the Global 100 or go for a custom allocation?

If the latter, which one and why?

Thanks!

I like this custom strategy, I am doing a similar one:

  • 1% Cash
  • 35% CSIF US - Pension Fund
  • 39% CSIF World ex CH hedged - Pension Fund Plus (just because of the FX restriction)
  • 25% Swisscanto US - IPF

I’ve changed my strategy for my 4 accounts in February:

  • Cash: 1%
  • CSIF SPI ESG : 19%
  • CSIF World ex CH : 50%
  • CSIF World ex CH hedged : 30%

Unfortunately the CSIF (CH) Equity Switzerland Total Market Blue isn’t available with VIAC, otherwise I would take it instead of the ESG one.

Overall performance: +27%

I wonder if VIAC will ever create a strategy without REIT. I’d like to move away from that much weight.

Why they don’t have global 100 strategy where switzerland is not at 40%

THey follow the rule of having 40% of CHF currency by account. They could use the hedged world but I guess they prefer to keep aclssic exposure.
FinPension on the opposite does not make it mandatory because they vest 40% of CHF for their global offers.
I have 1 Global 100 strategy for benchmark and 4 custom as follow :

Funds Weight
Swisscanto SMI 2 %
Swisscanto SPI Extra 1 %
Swisscanto Europe ex CH 23 %
Swisscanto US - Pension Fund 19 %
Swisscanto Canada 3%
Swisscanto Pacific ex Japan 6%
Swisscanto Japan - Pension Fund 3%
Swisscanto World ex CH Hedged - IPF 36 %
Swisscanto Emerging Markets 6 %

Hey out of curiosity why are we all avoiding iShares Core S&P500? and the iShares Nasdaq 100?

They have less diversification, more TER, and miss exemption from withholding taxes for pension funds.

@Helix Thanks - that makes sense!

HI! Does anyone regularly change their strategy? For example, I think Global100 is very high at the moment so it’s maybe time to make a break?

Market timing doesnt work. Markets are high all the time.

Hi everbody,
since 2 month it is possible to accumulate up to 5 % to ishares Bitcoin ETF in Viac. I would like to do that and the remaining 95% I want to rebuild the global 100% strategy. Here is how it would look like:

Markt ISIN Anteil Anteil NEU
CSIF SMI CH0033782431 29.25% 28
CSIF SPI Extra CH0110869143 9.75% 10
CSIF Europe ex CH CH0037606552 10.60% 10
CSIF US - Pension Fund CH0030849712 31.51% 30
CSIF Canada CH0030849613 1.93% 2
CSIF Pacific ex Japan CH0030849654 2.54% 2
CSIF Japan - Pension Fund CH0357515474 4.46% 4
CSIF Emerging Markets CH0017844686 8.96% 9
99.00% 94.79 + 5% BTC

For CSIF SMI I have to add 8% of Swisscanto SMI because of the max allocation of 20% of CSIF SMI. So it would result in two SMI funds in total representing 28% of the whole allocation. What do you think about the fund allocations (which makes 95% in sum). Tbh, for me it looks a bit over engineered. Any suggestions on how to make that easier?
