I used to have similar thoughts and with the years I realized I was always worried about my asset allocation and lost money changing it.
I would recommand you to go:
-3b: 90-100%VT (or actually VALL; look at other thread talking about VALL instead of VT for swiss investors) and 0-10% high risk/reward (Upro, Btc), at 2 different brokers, rebalance only from high into low risk
-3a: VT like via Viac and/or Finpension, buy max every year (before 3b)
-2P: look if you can/want to optimize your pension fund or buy in to fill a gap
-1P: look if you can fill a gap in Ahv/Avs
-0P:invest into your career to increase your income and into yourself
Quick summary VT vs VALL/VALLD: Check your DA-1 allowance. In some cantons you can’t get the full 100% VAT back from VT so it makes less sense to hold it. If you are lucky to have a high salary and get some VAT back, consider the “gliding” from VT to VALL/VALLD once you stop working (or before it).
Thank you for your responses. I am currently working at 80% at the beginning of my career, so my salary is relatively modest at this stage. However, I benefit from excellent working conditions and I am employed in the canton of Fribourg.
My 3a pension is currently with Finpension, and I have no gaps in my AVS contributions. I will also start contributing to my occupational pension (LPP/BVG) next year.
