Understanding Relevé Général / General Tax Account Statement

Hello All,

I need to submit a Relevé Général / tax account statement from the tax administration to another authority and would like to make sure I am interpreting it correctly.

The statement shows:

  • 2025: CHF 0.00 outstanding for both federal and cantonal/communal taxes

  • 2026: two amounts listed under Acomptes (provisional tax installments), totaling CHF XX31.45.

  • Montant des créances impayées / Amount of unpaid debts: CHF 0.00.

  • Montant des impôts intérêts moratoires non compris / Tax amount, excluding late payment interest : XX31.45 CHF

My understanding is that the 2026 amounts are simply ongoing provisional installments for the current tax year and do not represent tax arrears or debt. In other words, the document confirms that there are no unpaid past tax liabilities, only currently open 2026 installments.

Is that interpretation correct? Just would like to double check here.

Thanks!

You should probably state the canton, in some cantons taxes are owed during the year.

Thanks! It’s for the Vaud canton.

In Vaud, these are debts, because you had to pay them at a certain date
