The Mustachian music thread

Very nice! I think a degree of unconventionality is a feedback loop for individualistic thinking ability and open mindedness, leading to the realisation that time is traded for money, and vice versa, that you can’t let others decide your future if you want to be free, hence saving and investing

Hi

Likewise, other than the lowest of the low bottom-feeding shit like Greek trap, Serbian turbofolk, Greek dog music and other similar stuff that make me want to stick an icepick in my ear.

But that was the first punk.

Ahhh good old Falco, still love putting his Greatest Hits on. Junge Roemer!

He was quite a character and a bit of a ‘rap’ pioneer.

Speaking of rap pioneers … anno 1982:

Nice censoring by YT as well as it’s apparently not appropriate to say “people pissing on the street” …

Dirty rap: this one is uncensored and far away from family safe, tap the ears of your children. I think he wanted to go against Trump and become president…

 … the official label is probably not “uncensored”, but “Explicit”.

I liked it (only the melody, of course  ).

But I’ll one up you from only rolling joints:

The best text on drugs is from Gordon Lightfoot about his beloved girlfriend Cathy Smith alias Sundown: “Sometimes I think it’s a shame when I get feeling better when I’m feeling no pain”. I think Sundown killed John Belushi with a injected mixture of cocaine and heroin.

Golden Earring - Twilight Zone (Video)

Better known (in the US) for Radar Love (the ultimate driving song?) but they had a lot of hits in home country the Netherlands over the decades.

Unfortunately the guitar player passed away in 2025.

Tom Petty (†), Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne, Dhani Harrison, Prince (†) and others.

Watch till the end, as they say on the Interwebs … (it’s really a cool finish)

Last (topic) post from me for today, I promise.

That’s a great clip. I recall reading that a week or two before this show some newspaper had published a list of greatest guitar players, had not included Prince, and that this was his answer.

He is just so versatile and makes it look almost easy - like riding a bike. Incredible talent (even if I don’t like all his music).

And because my MOFO home portfolio did perform very nice in 2025: Ali G destroys “help the aged”…

Time for some Rolling Stones.

Time for some Dead Kennedys… and a good war, maybe against a “moderately repressive regime” in South America? Anyway, we need that oil.
