Did anyone get an email from Yuh about the changes in how SWQ will work? Are they going to restrict again? I smell a new bait and switch
I sense that their current model will just no longer scale. Key problems seem to be that they keep running out of SWQ that they can give away. So far, they seem to heavily invest into the creation of new SWQ (to prevent dillution). But clearly, that will somewhen not work for them anymore.
My interpretation is as follows:
- Do nothing for now (and keep hoddling SWQ as they must keep growing in value)
- IF YUH somewhen states that they no longer buy-back SWQ, then carefully review if you sell the remaining SWQ immediately - or if the new regime allows for further growth in SWQ. Highly likely, this will be the time when you need to sell your SWQ.
Well, for me this SWQ is clearly something between the stocks of a startup and Superpoints of Coop. What to do with them is also clear: I donât hold the former ones and I spend the latter ones as soon as I can.
Yes, and got rid of them. Lets be honest, itâs very unlikely that this will go to the moon at anytime in the future.
Could have waited until we have more info about the change, but I got screwed over too many times in the past for hodling shitcoins.
Itâs best to just look at them as rewards/cash back. The crypto angle is just a gimmick.
*a cashback that can evaporate into thin air at any moment when this can be traded
Well, the Swissqoin rewards are simply a bit too generous to be sustainable, so it was obvious that it was more of an introductory marketing gimmick to kick off Yuh. But it is possible that they may still offer some kind of rewards in the future (e.g. for card payments). There arenât really any other neobanks that have rewards on their free bundles, so Yuh was an exception.
Also others have promo codes when opening an account. Maybe not for the card payment but in general. At Neon you get 10CHF free credit (and a free card, but this is already free at Yuh). So no, I wouldnât call it overly generous from Yuh in comparison to others.
The 1 SWQ you get per card payment at Yuh is hilarious. You only get to a decent level if you refer friends etc.
