Hi all. I am considering applying for a Swiss type B residence permit on the basis of financial independence through passive income. I have a couple of questions. Would appreciate if anyone with knowledge chimed in. 1) What is the minimum amount of monthly passive income necessary to apply? 2) Do you accept substantial savings held in brokerage and bank accounts instead of actual passive periodical monthly income? 3) How much time does it take on average to process an application for such a permit?

Are you an EU or non EU citizen ? Swiss authorities make a distinction.
B permit without gainful employment is possible under conditions.
