Stock markets relations between eachother

I’m not a stock picker (yet?) but I do notice how the Swiss market is somehow linked to the Us market in some ways.
For example, it seems that it spends the time beteen 9 an 15-16 going random directions until the US market opens. After that, it follows it, depending on how usd/chf is going. Sometimes at around 23-24, after the US market is closed, you can guess how the swiss market will go for the first couple of hours (or even if the afore mentioned 15-16).
Am I noticing a (useless) trend or I’m short sighted?

All developed markets are very correlated. And if stuff happens (for example Fed has a press conference) after swiss market is already closed, the US market will react of course. And then the swiss market reacts as soon as market is open the next day. But you cannot use this information, as it‘s priced in even before trading opens on the swiss market. You could look at SMI futures for example.

Most swiss companies are very international and closely linked to the market in general.

And if CHF goes up a lot, swiss market also tends to go down to compensate a bit or not go up as much as the rest of the market, as the company profits are not coming from swiss francs and therefore the cashflows are lower in CHF. The stock prices dont really change (or go up if market as whole does well) when you would look at them in USD for example.
