Short guide to CHF fixed income options

Hi,

I have some cash (CHF 100K) that I would prefer not to invest in the stock market right now and would like to keep in a bank deposit or similar account. Which banks are offering the highest interest rates?

Thanks

You might want to check Moneyland. Below is a screenshot of the current status.
Be aware of withdrawal limits (RĂŒckzugslimite). No savings account offers unrestricted withdrawal of 100k. So you either need to plan your withdrawals, put the money on several accounts, or use a current account (Privatkonto) with a high withdrawal limit.

Also check out Kassenobligationen if you are sure, you don’t need the money in the next >2y

I think you could also check baloise bank and their “Sparen Bonus” account, it pays 0.75% right now

Currently (the highest-yield) savings accounts have higher interest than the highest-yield 1-year fixed deposits (Kassenobligationen/Festgeld). As the snippet of the gaijin’s snippet shows, CEA currently has the highest interest rate (1% p.a.), but there’s a 12-month notice for withdrawals above 10k per year.

all these marketing offers are not worth the hassle.
“Saving with a preferential interest rate for new money and maturing insurance policies, fixed term of 1 year, then automatic conversion into Saving Comfort” (which is 0.05% P.A..)

True, those temporary promotional offers are usually a marketing gimmick. But savings account interest rates can change anytime in any case. For those who want a fixed rate, there are fixed deposits. But of course, we’re talking returns of a few hundred to a maximum of around a thousand francs for a year, so returns are kind of a side thought in this case.

Valiant is launching a new savings account tomorrow offering 1.01% interest, fixed until the end of February 2027, for new money transferred by the end of May.

How did they come up with this number

Maybe they wanted to outbid everyone offering a mere 1% interest
