With a little bit more of TER at 0.09%, wouldn’it be interesting to buy the hedged version of WRDUSY (WORLD IE000N6LBS91) ? We don’t know if USD will recover one day..
Personally I only buy hedged versions of Bond ETFs, I don’t hedge equity exposure
My reasons are following
There is no real conclusive evidence for equities anyway. Hedge or not to hedge remains an eternal question;)
Thank you for sharing and explaining your point of view.
If you want only one ETF i guess WEBG is better than WRDUSY, I’m I right ?
WEBG has emerging market included already, so more diversified
Yes.
WRDUSY needs an EM brother to go along
WEBG is complete. I use it when I have to trade on IBKR.
For Saxo , since I use CHF to trade, I prefer CHF denominated ETFs
In summary , there are three options for me
Thanks for the information.
If i may ask, what do you do when you want to shift to a new ETF ? Do you keep the old positions and just start on the new or do you sell the first and invest all in the new ?
Or you could use UBS Core ETFs for both: WRDUSY + EMMUSA (0.06%, 0.15%)
Unlikely to make a significant difference but may be a good option for people that prefer distributing ETFs.
Or this one with Autoinvest (no commission) DIST and TER 0.14%: CBMEM LU2573966905.
That was my first option but EMMUSA doesnt have a lot of volume traded on SIX… it makes it difficult.
this is synthetic etf… I prefer physical ones
Yes i keep the old ones for few years atleast (3- 5 years is my plan)
Most of my ETFs are less than 0.20% TER, so its not like I am paying huge differential.
There will always be a cheaper ETF which is not the cheapest yet.. so does not make sense to keep buying & selling all the time.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to send EUR directly to Saxo CH IBAN then invest into WEBN for example?
Thx
This morning the money appeared again in my Saxo trading account. Minus a total of USD 75 in fees and charges.
Saxo operates differently than SQ or IB. They have different accounts for different currencies.
You first need to open sub account for EURO. You can do it in the portal easily. Once this is opened then you deposit money in the specific sub account.
If you deposit money in CHF account then it would automatically get converted to CHF. Same is true for dividends , if an ETF gives DIVIDEND in USD & ETF is stored in CHF account then dividends will be automatically converted
Thank you very much!
Fees for what?
USD 25 Swift transfer fees for the original withdrawal attempt to Wise. The remaining
USD 50 were not explained. Probably for the the transfer back and/or the investigation of the payments team? I received this support message:
Thank you for your patience regarding the return of funds from Wise. I am pleased to inform you that our payments team has now confirmed that the funds, amounting to USD […] after charges, have been credited back to your Saxo account. These should reflect shortly.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or require additional assistance. Thank you for your understanding and continued trust in our services.
I reopened the ticket to request a refund of these fees/charges, because in my opinion it was not my fault (the system did not allow me to enter the required payment information, it just automatically initiated the transfer to the connected account).
Sorry to hear that. Good luck with refund
