Has the federal government issued any guideline on how earnings from Polymarket trading or Polymarket day trading are taxed?

probably same as other gambling? (polymarket.com also seems to be blocked through the DNS servers of ISPs, due to not complying with gambling laws). AFAIU that means it is not taxed unless it rises to the level of self-employment.

edit: okay ignore me on how gambling is taxed.

It’s not on the government’s block list.

I think that’s more for the cantons to decide.
Here’s a website from the canton of Bern. They tax betting and lottery abroad.

It’s forbidden to use polymarket from Switzerland but I guess they will be happy to tax the gains anyway.

No, it is not:

Fortunately, the law makes a distinction between the operators of online gambling and the gamblers, i.e. the users of these services.

I see, so your internet provider should restrict access but if you still manage to access it you’re fine.
