This is actually a benefit of cloud services. Some have the ability to add a legacy contact, so your family can get access to your account with your death certificate.

That’s what I mean. If you have your own home made system, when you go, it might be a struggle to use/maintain/fix it.

If the docs are sitting on the NAS, it’s enough to mount the SMB share, provided that you have the login credentials (which should be the case also for cloud services)
Argh so now we also have to document… Anyway I guess once kids are big enough to complain about this stuff we’ll move back to cloud.
