[OBSOLETE] CHF transfer (from UBS) to Interactive Brokers in 2021

If you already have an IBUK account and live in Switzerland you probably won’t have any problems.

But it seems that new signups (even from Swiss people) get assigned to one of the European IB entities, which only have the German bank account for CHF transfers.

I guess this is very recent because I opened my IBUK account back in February and got assigned the CH20 IBAN. I lucked out it seems

I opened new accounts in May and June and they were both at IBUK with a CH IBAN at Crédit Suisse…

My partner opened one in May as well. IBAN was Credit Suisse.

At that time I had not actually managed yet but support had suggested it was possible by temporarily putting Ireland as my country of legal residence and asking it to be changed to France manually. I followed the procedure that they described but did not get helped that quickly on the ticket on the new account. I contacted them again also through my old account and got the reply that by now they have changed it so that you can make an account at IBIE without this trick. I just made a new account again (as french resident) and indeed this time I got an IBIE account instead of IBCE. (I see Interactive Brokers Ireland Limited on the bank account title so I assume this time it went right and I have an account at IBIE. It is annoying that they don’t make this more clear. I guess it should be buried somewhere in some document.)

For information: I just tried sending the money to Germany with my new Yuh account. But unfortunately the interbanks still stole 25CHF.

So, so far the only success in this thread was with an UBS bank account? Maybe because they use UBS as correspondence bank?

I assume UBS was only mentioned because it was in the question.

I regularly transfer money to IB from my PostFinance account, never got hit with any fees.

To the German IBAN in CHF? The swiss one is obviously free.

Could you please explain how?

(I’ve been navigating this forum and the net for hours and it has been all over suggested CH20 8909 5000 0105 6967 4 as a receiving IBAN co. Interactive Brokers, which they officially don’t recognize so now I’m dizzy and exhausted and hope for an easy and not too expensive solution to transfer my CHF, maybe yours?..)

Sorry for you have been wasted your time, but there is literally one page with instructions. Lots of info in this thread is outdated or someone was having obscure problems. I don’t understand how it is possible to miss.

I will write later how it should look like.
