I really don’t think that this will be a problem in the case of Vanguard - the fund will grow, albeit more slowly than the acc version - as the acc version is tax advantageous in certain EU countries. And you will just buy your shares from a market maker after a waiting period.
I also own VWRD in USD at LSE - it has like 30K stocks traded a day tops - still always get good execution.
ETF shares can just be created via market makers, so liquidity is almost irrelevant.
I like the new VALL(D) and aim to switch from VWRL in my portfolio. Strangely, through Swissquote I can trade VALL(D) at SIX in USD, through IBKR I can’t trade VALL(D) at SIX at all. Anyone having any info on that? Is this just because it’s still so new?
Having realized that I’m not the only one asking about a CHF traded VALL(D), I went ahead and checked Vanguard’s disclosures. And bad news: CHF isn’t coming. They set it up with USD at SIX, contrary to older/other ETFs they are offering.
So Swissquote is working as intended with VALL(D) in USD, don’t know why IBKR isn’t even offering that yet, but likely just a matter of time. Of course, there is also no need to trade at SIX if you trade USD anyway.
There will be no CHF share class. As there is no EUR nor Pound share class. Market makers can trade it in the corresponding currency and take care of FX themselves.
