Dear Mustachians,
I hope this post finds you well! Let me take a moment to (re)introduce myself and share an exciting project where you might be able to help—or know someone who can.
This year has been a game-changer for me: I earned my bar exam in February 2024 and have spent the past two years working as a legal advisor at the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (FTA). My focus? International taxation and the exchange of information. It’s been a rewarding role with a fantastic team, and while the pay is decent, I hit a wall professionally.
I felt like I wasn’t growing anymore. My current division doesn’t offer much room to evolve, and honestly, I was starting to feel a bit stagnant. So, I decided to shake things up. After applying to several law firms and public institutions, I landed a new opportunity at lightning speed—less than two weeks from application to offer. Life has its surprises, doesn’t it?
The next chapter?
I’ll soon be joining the Federal Administrative Court (BVGer) in St-Gallen. But there’s a catch:
For the first six months, I won’t have the option to work remotely. Since I don’t currently live in St-Gallen—and moving there permanently isn’t in my plans right now—I need a practical solution.
Here’s where you come in:
Do you or someone you know have a room, apartment, or sublet available in St-Gallen? Zurich could also work as a backup option.
A bit about me to reassure potential roommates or landlords:
- I’m tidy, respectful, and polite. I treat others’ spaces with as much care as I do my own.
- My new role is 80% (with the possibility of 100% later), so I’d only be in Saint Gallen about four days a week. Between work and my workouts (likely at the CrossFit gym there), I’ll hardly be around.
- My German skills are a work in progress, but I’m eager to improve, especially with classes offered at BVGer. Bonus: I can help you brush up on your French if you’d like!
In short:
If you have any leads, contacts, or simply want to chat to learn more, feel free to reach out! I’m really excited about this next step and would love to make the logistics as seamless as possible—with some great connections along the way.
Thanks so much for your time and support, and I look forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
A soon-to-be St-Gallen commuter, ready for the challenge
