Nachträgliche ordentliche Veranlagung

Hello everybody,

I have a doubt about NOV (Nachträgliche ordentliche Veranlagung). we are a couple , married and working in Zurich since 3 years and a half, we are taxed at source, because permit b and we do not reach 120k.. but our bank account is above 180k, and I read
" * Sie verfügen über weitere nicht der Quellensteuer unterliegende Einkünfte über CHF 3’000 bzw. Vermögen über CHF 80’000 (bei gemeinsam steuerpflichtigen Personen CHF 160’000).
In diesem Fall sind Sie verpflichtet, einen Antrag auf nachträgliche ordentliche Veranlagung zu stellen."

my question is , should I ask to do the tax declaration or fill this doc (Nachträgliche ordentliche Veranlagung)? what does it mean taxable assets? bank accounts are include or it is only properties, stocks, gold etc etc?

Thanks so much for your help.
Juan

Congratulations, you have enough money for Switzerland to bother asking you to calculate how much you actually owe in taxes!

This is not optional. Your taxes will be still deducted at source, but you will have to file an additional full year declaration to determine the amount of tax due.

Yes. It includes everything that is not 2nd or 3rd pillar.

Thanks @Dr.PI , and it has to be proactively ? cause I did not receive anything at home :frowning:

You better call your tax office and ask.

Yes, there’s no data sharing about domestic wealth so you have to do it proactively. (unlike salaried income they cannot know when it becomes mandatory).
