If you buy from a private seller, what is the procedure that you should follow?
DO you go to a mechanics before finalizing the sale? Do you make a contract?
Do you change the plates before driving the vehicle to your place, or do you drive the vehicle to your place and then went to register the change of owner to the registry office?
If you dont have deeper understandig for cars it would be a good odea to do a tcs occasion check at your expenses.
Regarding the plates , i handle it always like this:
After contract and few 100 or 1000’s downpayment the buyer recieves the regustration document (Fahrzeugausweis).
After he paid the total amount he van come with his plants and I handle him the keys.
