I get about 60 days a year skiing with my daughter in a race team + spending Christmas + rêlache + easter vacations skiing. 7CHF a day. Basically it is free and that is how I treat it. Sometimes I’ll ski 2-3 pistes and then head to a restaurant, or I’ll ski tour most of the day and get a few lift-served laps at the end. The flexibility when you are not paying for a day pass seems to increase the value massively.
I bought it first time last year, though not sure I got value out of it.
I used it a couple of times in summer on hikes. A weekend in Gstaad, Hasliberg and Melchsee-Frutt. I’m not sure what the threshold for being worthwhile is.
I anyway decided to try for 2 years to see how it goes.
well it is easy to work out looking at ski pass prices. It doesn’t take long, but it helps if you have a 1 week holiday planned in a MP resort. Once that is done, then you basically ski for free. It does take about 7 days of skiing at the larger MP resorts to break even. I’ll hit that before christmas due to my daughter’s training.
You also make a good point that it can be used in summer. I usually get a couple of summer hikes, or a fondue at Berneuse/leysin without even bothering to hike.
PS, MagicPass is on sale now for next season. Prices will go up in a few weeks.
