Hi does anyone know if it is possible to remortgage a French rental property using a Swiss bank. Currently we have a CHF mortgage via a French bank but the FX rate is costing us a lot of money as it was fixed 8 years go.
Thanks in advance.

Try CA nextbank
btw what do you mean? isn’t it expected to be impacted by EUR losing value over time? (otherwise would be too easy to arbitrage )
I have one with CA Next bankm and another mortage with Banque de leman
Are you Swiss resident ? If yes, I may inform you somethnig important about these kinds of mortgages
Yes swiss resident.
A colleague mentioned that with a Swiss bank, mortgage interest rates are generally better than in France
However, you’re tied to the property, meaning you can’t transfer the mortgage to a new home if you sell the current one.
In that case, you might be forced to pay early repayment penalties as your only option.
That said, this should definitely be verified
@alanmack : have you experimented this kind of situation ?
@Kens I believe that’s true. I never tried. Anyway my mortgages are SARON so normally there’s no early repayment penalty
Hi FX rate was fixed when we took the mortgage at 1.16 if I remember.
