Mortgage companies for uk resident buying in Switzerland

Hi all

I’m looking for some advice on how to get a mortgage for a property in Nendaz, Switzerland.

I’ve approached UBS but since the initial conversation I’ve filled in their forms and haven’t heard anything. I’ve emailed the local bank BCVS using the contact from the real estate agent and not had a reply (two weeks ago). I’ve emailed Resolve and have had a response but the agent didn’t call at the agreed time! So I’m trying to rearrange.

Does anyone have any suggestions on whom to contact, any other bank etc?

I’ve written all the requests in French and English initially!

I think there are (plenty of?) CH/VS-located advisors for uk people specifically who are eager to help.

I’m not so I’ve never dug into it.

Do you already have a banking relationship with UBS? If not, I suggest opening an account first and then scheduling a meeting with the assigned relationship manager.

I don’t have any relationship with UBS. I’ve filled in their application form and definitely meet their requirements but no response.

As a secondary property (vacation house), rental property or something else?

Where are you domiciled?

What nationalities (CH, UK, EU, other) you have?

Domiciled in the UK. British national. Holiday home plus rental. I’ve had a response from a global mortgage broker Enness Global and have a meeting fixed with them. I just didn’t expect completely no response from any of the contacts, given that they were personal introductions. I wasn’t surprised by UBS, their reputation in the uk is not the best.
