Mini-FIRE for 2 Months: What would be on your Agenda?

Hi Folks
I “accidentally” ran into a situation where I will be off the job for the next 2 months. If you had such a situation on short notice, what would be on your agenda?

Looking forward to creative ideas

Book a flight and travel around for 5-7 weeks. Or do other things you’ll probably only have the time for once retired.

Get a GA and travel around.

Do one of the national hiking route.

That, maybe in Australia or New Zealand or any other place so far away that it would be harder to do later with less time.
I used to do a nice trip where I “hop on and off” flights around Asia. If you have the patience, you can easly organize a trip around the world for 2000 chf flights-only.

Road trip along Japan, the momiji season is right on the corner and it’s beautiful, plus the climate is still warm between September and October :star_struck:

How is this FIRE related?

This is literally just an extended vacation, not even a sabbatical.

I would travel. But I worry for your FIRE aspirations tbh if you can’t even figure out on your own what you would do with 2 months off never mind forever off.

I agree. Now is the chance to travel far and for an extended amount of time. Where that is Aus/NZ or Latam, or extended tour of Asia.

You are lucky, it’s golden season (nice, not hot and cheap) all over the world not too far from the equator.

Just for fun:
zurich->bangkok->manila->seoul-tokyo-sydney 890chf. Unfortunately I can’t keep going on, google just doesn’t let me. You can go on with aukland, honolulu, los angeles, chicago, newyork, london, zurich. I think you stay under 2000chf

I traveled to South America for four months and it ran me about 11,500 EUR. No regrets, it was time well spent for sure.
