Migros App how to get the Blue 5CHF vouchers to work

Anyone else having issues with this despite activating the 5CHF blue vouchers on the app, at the checkout till it does not recognize that there is an active voucher loaded on the loyalty card, there is no barcode to scan unlike the paper vouchers (which I mistakenly threw away).

Spend is over 5CHF, how do you get it to accept the voucher?

Use the qr code in the app to add your cumulus card to the purchase. Or do everything in the app using subitoGo.

I open the app, activate the blue vouchers, and then scan the app QR code. Sometimes it doesn’t work. But I don’t care, they don’t expire that fast, and it usually works the next time.

My theory: Maybe the QR code changes when it’s activated (to signal to the register that there is something), but that takes too long, so I end up scanning the old one? Or maybe my Cumulus account records to a backend system that I’ve activated it, but the register doesn’t catch on fast enough? If that’s the case, it might help to activate it earlier.

Have you used the code from the app or from the card? If I use the card it doesn’t work only when I use the code from the app.

Not sure if that is the issue but I noticed on Android that having the Migros Card in Google Wallet does not work well. For example, even if I have the blue voucers activated in the Migros app, they get never used when I scan the Migros Card via Google Wallet. You need to scan the Card in the Migros App for it to work. The voucher will be deducted at the last step of the checkout when paying.

As far as I understand, the qr code must be used. It does not work with the barcode.

thanks all!
I just tested this, using the QR code in the app instead of the barcode from my google wallet and viola it works!! but why? Surely whether its a QR or a barcode its linked to my Culmulus account. This problem only occurs with the blue vouchers, if I activate any other offer in the app say 3x points, Scanning the usual barcode recognises this offer so it gets updated instantly.

I agree, very frustrating and took me also some time to figure it out. I also think the other functions as you stated work although I am not 100%. Sometimes using the QR code in the app I have the feeling it adds more points but this could be just a wrong observation from my end.

Confirmed by Migros FAQ: you must scan the QR-code in the app and not the 2D-barcode on the physical card or the stickers.

I remember reading somewhere that they wanted to limit the usage of the coupons to the owner of the Cumulus account. For example, it prevents the following situation:

  1. Parents activate their Cumulus coupons in the app.
  2. Children go buy their candies. As told by their parents they scan the Cumulus 2D-barcode (every penny counts) and get free candies

no issue as you can only use the QR if you select to receive the bleu vouchers in electronic format in addition to collect point with QR is also possible, the card is only to collect points.

Ive now added the photo of the QR code in my google wallet, requires two taps to access as opposed to a barcode which is just 1 tap. Im not sure why google wallet cant just take the QR code directly rather than having to use a photo. Hopefully the QR code doesnt change. its a bit annoying but all the supermarket apps are just too slow and its faster to access it through a central wallet

You should be able to add the qr code to the wallet from the migros app. When you click on the blue button to show it it should have an option below to add it to the wallet.

But I would try SubitoGo, I have been using it exclusively for some time now. It’s great and well integrated with the shopping list. You can do everything from the phone, even paying and don’t need any terminals

I’ve got the cumulus card with QR in apple wallet, official feature of apple-Migros (no tweak to get in the wallet). Isn’t that possible in Google?

Edit: of course, you’ve been answered just above.
