My wife and I are looking to redo our kitchen. Do you have brenfs you recommend to use (or skip) specifically ?
We were looking at Bosch, but the showroom near Lausanne has so many bad reviews it’s starting to put me off.

Very happy with V-Zug + Qooker + Bora
Having said that, friends have a vacation home where they installed an IKEA kitchen and they are also happy.
appliances, I swear by Beko.

We got Electrolux from kitchen to bathroom, and super satisfied.
(Note: It’s been only 2 years in a rented apartment, so can’t speak properly about 5-10y longevity)

Fortunately this is becoming less common nowadays, but if you’re renovating a kitchen, make sure to install 60 cm-wide appliances (the EU standard) rather than 55 cm-wide ones (the Swiss standard). The Swiss standard appliances are, no surprise, much more expensive.
Once a kitchen has been designed around 55 cm-wide cabinetry and appliances, switching to the more common 60 cm standard later can be difficult and may require significant modifications.

We opted for VZug. We are happy with the high heat of the oven and the self-cleaning function. We are not entirely happy with the uneven baking of sheet cakes. I am not too happy with our V Zug dishwasher. Our Bosch stove and Siemens microwave are approx. 20 years old and work very well.

Have bought a set of Bosch, and one set of VZug, would recommend both.
VZug has the benefit of qualified local contractors whenever you have warranty issues
We’ve always had Miele and been very happy with the reliability and results. However during the last renovation during COVID, we had to go with V-Zug due to long delivery times. V-Zug does the job, however for dishwasher I found Miele results were better. Also with the V-Zug combi steamer-oven has been giving some error messages which has thankfully been resolving on its own for now. For the induction hob, the Siemens has been doing a decent job for the last 5 years. Our friends have good feedback on the Bora.
Looks like everything is pretty decent. Is there anything to avoid then?
So far it looks like taking whatever is currently the cheapest which satisfy the need works if there’s no specific differences between brands.
I’ll be in the market in a few months.
I doubt it really matters. The household names like V-Zug, Miele, Bosch/Siemens, Electrolux all have their fancy premium lines, budget and something in between, typically each with a variety of different models.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the Korean or Chinese brands are just as good.
I’d rather focus on what appliances you want or need in the first place (like ofen, steamer, both or type of cooking hood), and then the must-have functionality. And of course, how much you are willing to spend.
The fancy lines do all look nice and the differences are minor or cosmetic. For example Miele has gripeless ovens with auto-open, V-Zug doesn’t (or didn’t). If you, like me hardly use a majority of different programs or app functionality, it might not even be worth spending a few thousands more on it, though.
Maybe other specs matter to you, like noise level or energy consumption.
Whether touch-screen will out-live the manual knobs and tiny LED I had before in a rental apartment only time will tell, but that again should be independent of brand.
