I received this email. Can anyone explain why I cannot buy etf anymore? The last time I bought an etf was maybe 8 months ago.

Maybe it‘s the long inactivity?
Do you have substantial funds in your account?
Normally once an year you need to fill in a form which asks about your experience etc. based on these answers you are either allowed or not allowed
Try to login your account on Website of ibkr and I think you would see a popup. If your declaration is due , you would need to fill the form
If you are denied trading because of your declaration then you might need to check again the answers you provided . Try to apply for trading permissions again and see
