I would like to regularly buy some ETF (dollar cost averaging), automatizing the order’s creation on Interactive Broker.
As far as I know, IB doesn’t offer a similar feature out-of-the-box.
Is anyone doing this periodic operation via other features, like IB’s API?
Not yet but shouldn’t be to hard. Iirc there was a recent post about a service that does support automated trades using IB.

In TWS, you can create an order valid after certain time. So you can create a batch of orders once and let them run. They should be market orders (if you are not scared) or some type of algorithmic orders (RTFM), obviously.
