Should I watch Youtube videos on TradingView and get to grips with it, i.e. learn the tool. After 10 minutes of clicking, everything looks pretty complicated. There are many people here in the forum who use TradingView.
Or is there a simpler alternative for macOS?
What is your goal? I am looking at tickers and charts basically just for fun, I have my favorite view with some indicators, and that’s it. And I don’t find it that difficult.
I am currently using Stocks.app from Apple. It’s a bit too limited for me. I’m looking for more power, but unfortunately TradingView has too much power. Something in between would be good.
Crypto fans seem to like TradingView
TradingView is the quasi default for many exchanges (I think even IBKR) if using the web mode. They integrated it with some limitation. So if you set it up once, you must not deal much further with the complexity (as @Dr.PI said).
Other “alternatives”: Google Finance, Yahoo Finance etc.
I prefer a local (Non-Cloud) App
