Hey there,
I hope you all enjoy(ed) some not-too-rainy holidays. I was AFK for some weeks, hence my late reply.
For those who wondered, I’m still alive — blogposts don’t write themselves alone unfortunately
Although the topic self-ended, I write down my answer here nevertheless, so that I can point other readers to it later on if need be.
How I see this Swiss FIRE/personal finance forum:
- I already take the whole space on my blog, talking about myself, my personal situation, my book, me me me (which is the goal of a blog after all)
- Hence, here on the forum, I want to leave all the free space to everyone
- Also, I’m all in for self-organization on such a forum community (I don’t need nor want a paternalistic “owner” nor a party organizer)
- About meetups and get-together, I never organized nor went to them for private reasons (anonymity and time, mostly). It makes me sad sometimes, but that’s the direction I wanna take. But I’m glad to see that they also get self-organized
- Finally, my guess would be that energy gets diluted if we split the forum into several, but I’m fine if I get proven wrong — as long as the overarching purpose remains to enable our Swiss FIRE community to reach its goals
Take care,
MP
