Hi all
after the last tax-season, i got motivated to build an excel- calculator to play with my taxation.
here it is: nugget’s Excel Tax Calculator suited currently for a single person in the canton of zurich with no kids. it can be easily adjusted to any other canton, the ground work is done.
I was able to re-create my own tax bill up to the Frank!
Feel free to download a copy. put in your values into the marked input fields and see the magic happen

Disclaimer: the Tax declaration form as such is not entirely consistent, and so is this calculator.
What works is mostly verified against my own tax declaration and as such marked as input field or “verified” field (caveats exist…).
Further i sticked to the German nomenclature of the tax declaration
Not yet implemented:
- different Cantons. just plug in your Canton’s tariff table at the right place.
- married/ parents tariff, children
- difference between “steuerbar“ and “satzbestimmend”
- all sorts of fields that do not currently apply to me. that’s the red marked fields
- church tax
- Personalsteuer
