Oh, I forgot to ask if you rent or own an apartment or a house.
I rent a flat, would like to own a house (with a large yard) in the future.
Would NOT like to own a flat (as my residence) because of being potentially annoyed by neighbours (noise and smoking).
At the moment we rent a house in a rural area. It is not excluded that the owner (a church) will sell one day. We’ll then make a move if the price is affordable. In that case we won’t need to move in or out which is nice
Currently renting a flat, will own a home once (if at this point?) the building permit is ever issued.
Same as you @Moustachienne, I wouldn’t own a flat. I would consider renting a home, but inventory is close to zero for non-luxury stuff where I am interested, and I had a difficult to reject opportunity to buy a plot and build.
Owner of a 4.5 loft after renting in Zürich CIty for 6 years. Looking to do a house and land one day but that might be a bit too pie in the sky. One can hope.
Happily renting in a co-op (Genossenschaft) in Zurich.
I could see myself moving within the co-op or into another co-op, but given how many people I’ve heard of being kicked out of affordable flats due to surprise renovations or teardown for new construction I’ll do what I can to avoid non-co-op renting.
