That’s like the 30th deal that Iran allegedly agreed on by now ![]()
The Guardian’s “Planeloads of negotiators and too little time: US and Iran’s 21 hours of talks” by Patrick Wintour, published 12 April 2026
It directly contrasts the delegations:
-
Iran: sent “two planeloads” of negotiators, including IRGC members and specialists across legal, political, security, economic, military, and nuclear-technical files. The article notes Iranian figures such as Abbas Araghchi and Ali Bagheri Kani had deep experience from prior nuclear talks.
-
U.S.: sent JD Vance plus nearly 300 officials, after earlier criticism that talks were left to Steve Witkoff, whom the article describes as the “noteless” special envoy. The framing is that Washington may have belatedly realized Iran’s team was highly prepared.
Another relevant comparison piece is AP’s “Iran-US talks over Tehran’s nuclear program hinge on a billionaire and a seasoned diplomat,” which contrasts Steve Witkoff, a Trump-aligned real-estate billionaire, with Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister and a veteran nuclear negotiator involved in the 2015 deal.

Arms Control Association has published “U.S. Negotiators Were Ill-Prepared for Serious Nuclear Talks With Iran,” arguing Witkoff lacked the technical and diplomatic expertise needed for effective nuclear negotiations.
Long story short: it’s amateur hour, day after day. Doesn’t inspire confidence (also not in the markets it seems).
problem is that lack of preparedness means a bad deal from the US, which means they will probably break with it in the future.
Trump’s surrounded by sycophants, and is ignorant himself. And what Phil said.
Doesn’t matter, 2 more years, folks!
Mid-terms will be sooner. Will be interesting of the markets respond positively in case Trump gets his hands tied when/if the Democrats get a boost.
Ah yes, forgot about that. Then again the port is at ATH…so no complaints!
And yet another demonstration of why observing the stock market is generally “a useless waste of time” ™ ![]()
Hands up if you checked your portfolio 3 times between yesterday and today with absolutely no consequence of action.
Only 3 times?
Ha ha ha… or did you mean per hour?
That was when I had 2k invested ![]()

Why are you checking your portfolio so often? SpaceX isn’t trading yet.
Addiction to information
Plus, it gives endorphines to see $$$ is up!
put a 0 behind that.
I should stop checking so often…
I admit that I sometimes check more frequently when it really drops to document the lowest low. No fun in creating a NW chart with monthly values of it doesn’t show the extent of the tariff mini crash or Iran dip if it’s over before the month is over.
Checking when it really drops gives some adrenaline and when it goes up gives some dopamine I guess.
The mentally worst time in the past couple of years was actually 2022 I think. Just a steady loss month after month. Does anyone even remember, why? I don’t think I even checked more than once a month during that time.
OK. Iran deal soon to be signed. maybe. hopefully. soon?
time for the stock market melt-up to begin?
Already priced in. Now down?
My crystal ball says: quiet summer, down in the fall.
BOJ is expected to raise the interest rates this week. Let‘s see what happens with the USD.
The deal seems to largely be “we agree that we need more time to reach agreement on a deal”
This gane is not over and i suspect iran will continue to play desperate don like a fiddle
and then stonks go like vroooooom vroooooom ![]()
Beg to differ, sentiment should be inversed in accumulation phase.
