Oh, it’s London? How is a CH account in the UK?
I have not sent money to this account in the past. It’s from my normal cantonal bank account…
I might just ignore the warning then, if no one here screems it’s a scam website/IBAN ![]()

Foreign companies can be connected with swiss domestic banking system.
(And I don’t know what they check, is it the bank that’s foreign, or the recipient? Because a foreign recipient on a swiss bank is probably not that uncommon)
I think there is another thread about this unfortunately legal poop. Credit Card companies make money on that and we can’t do sh*t.
Maybe we should “talk to our representative” about this. There is no easy way if a CC will add the surcharge.
Usually.
On your case it seems that the company is foreign, so you will pay that infamous 1.5% or so.
Edit: I’ve found this link How to spot foreign CHF credit card transactions? - #11 by yetanothername maybe there is another one as well
Note: this is about wire transfer, not cc transaction.
Thanks for claryfing. No issues in that. Transfers on CHXX account are considered swiss in any case so probably free. Is there a bank that charges for those?
Thanks for all of your help!
I think that it might just have been a warning by my bank that the payment will go to a foreign company or something… And I had to change something in my banking to allow it.
I can report back if any extra charges will occur or not.
(Either way, as long as the packet arrives, and I don’t brake it trying to install it, the thing will cost me less than what the garage wanted for it.).
Anyways, I’m pretty excited to install it and see if I can manage to get the rusty screws out of the car ![]()
I somehow feel like the 36 CHF installing fee for that thing is way more justified than for a freaking light bulb.
Now let me just check if my tetanus vaccination is up to date ![]()
Gosh, I’m even considering replacing something that the technical control didn’t even flag. ![]()
It’s a bit like Lego but more useful…
