Much appreciated!!

Having similar issue transferring from Sunrise to Yallo.

The porting request got lost somewhere between Yallo and Sunrise. Each blames the other, Sunrise cut the line, neither warned us, 6 days without mobile so far, looking like 10 total

Crowning glory: the Yallo contract states clearly “Yallo is a brand of Sunrise”.

Update: the issue seem to be Yallo. Noone there can give me a competent answer or is taking any responsibility. Seems like a case of “they are cheap for a reason”

Got mine working after 8 days btw.

What happened - was the issue at Wingo or Quickline ?

Quickline messed it up. But nobody could tell me what really happened.

Worked like a charm for me with Quickline (wife: same).

so far so good. The coverage is noticeably worse than Wingo I’ve noticed but for the price of free I can’t really complain.

Maybe interesting to know: Quickline trotz mehr Kunden mit leicht weniger Umsatz im 2023

My switch to a standard Quickline SIM worked perfectly despite the language barrier.

I discovered that my free data sim from my old provider (Sunrise) is valid for life so I can keep that for internet at home even though I ordered a chf5/month SIM card from Quickline for this purpose. Currently using a small Huawei dongle but on advise from @sedot (Feedback on using 4G / 5G routers instead of copper wire - #27 by sedot) I will buy a better quality router (Huawei B818 CPE / B818-263).

Thank you Moustachians for the Quickline tip. :sunglasses:

I totally regret getting the Quickline promo. The sunrise network sucks sooo much in Aargau it‘s just not usable. I often get less than 1Mbits Download, even with 5G! What a complete mess.

Reacting to your other thread about frugalness. What is your use case is where you experience issues?

I’ve had Quickline alongside my employer’s swisscom phone for 8 months. Coverage is not as wide (GE-VD-VS) but good enough for my on the go personal recreational purposes which is whatsapp calls and music streaming

You’re in a train from Baden to Aarau and can’t watch YouTube videos without several interruptions. On some parts it gets so slow that you can’t even browse anymore.

Does any Mustachian know if there is any SBB offer on Half Fare card on Black Friday !

Interdiscount used to have it last year - I’d keep an eye there.

Thanks for the reminder!

It’s not to be found at the moment, sadly, however, they do offer a pretty good price for the Jungfraujoch, particularly for people without half fare it’s 50% off (valid November till Mars 26 or something like that) :

It’s more spending money than saving though

I usually buy one endless Gigabite of Internet for Europe including Switzerland at bnesim.com. I think last year at black Friday I paid less than CHF2 per Giga.

But as the name says, they do not expire and I still have a lot of leftover from the past years.

Does this mean you then use a new phone number? That would be a bit of an issue for me.

No, it is an esim just for internet. You can have a phone number if you want, I think it is even free, but I don’t need one. I use it just in Switzerland for easypark or maybe one day for easyride. Have wifi in almost all places I visit in Switzerland.

Outside of Switzerland in Europe I use the digi EUR 3 per month prepaid plan. But the Europe plan at BNE is cheaper or the same as the one for Switzerland only.

That sounds like a great solution. Thank you for sharing.

Following your link to the BNESIM website I failed to find any Black Friday offers or non-expiring regional plans. Maybe they have no Black Friday offer this year? Currently the Europe plans all have a 30 day expiry and the unlimited one is only for 10 days Europe eSIM, Voice & Data Solutions | Zero Roaming It is still an interesting possibility but like you I would be interested in a longer timeframe.
