3rd Pillar: Swiss Life or Viac/Finpension? Need Advice

Hello everyone,

I’m new to this forum and would like to ask for some help with my 3rd pillar. I’m looking for advice or explanations to better understand my current situation.

I’m currently with Swiss Life, with the Swiss Life Dynamic Elements Duo product. I’ve been paying an annual premium of 5,684 CHF since 2021, and my contract ends in 2063.

Here are the guaranteed amounts under different scenarios:

In case of death, my family would receive 186,063 CHF, and I have a disability coverage of 12,000 CHF for the first year. Of course, commissions are deducted from these amounts.

My question is: does it make sense to cancel my contract with Swiss Life and move my funds to Viac or Finpension, or should I reduce my premium with Swiss Life to the minimum and invest the rest with Viac or Finpension?

If someone could help me understand how to compare the returns between these options or explain the necessary calculations, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

You will find there all the relevant information.

Spoiler

The best solution will be to close your 3a at SwissLife, gobble up the loss and move on with VIAC, finpension or alike.

The thread shared below is informational and should help you decide

I would also encourage you to think about what is your objective ? If it’s purely linked to returns, then perhaps switching might work. But if you need life insurance & disability insurance as well then you need to consider Finpension + another insurance policy to cover your needs if you close your contract

Point is these are not 1-1 comparison products. They offer different services and underlying investments

Swiss life 3a FP/Viac
Life insurance Yes No
Disability insurance Yes No
Investment returns Yes Yes
Flexibility to stop investments No Yes

Bottom line -: decision depends on objectives.
