2y is not very long to recover though.

And it solves the debate about forgotten vested benefits accounts, since they plan to automate the data sharing and letting the new pension fund know about and request the money.

i am not completely sure how consultation works . But is this proposal not going to be going forward?

The Vernehmlassung let anyone comment on the proposed changes until the end of January. Now, we are awaiting the Ergebnisbericht, i.e. the summary and conclusion. Only then we will know how it will proceed. For the impatient, here are all the inputs they received (you linked to just one of them).

Comments are interesting, it looks like quite a lot of them are about the enforcement of moving pillar2 assets to the new fund instead of leaving them in a vested benefit account.

It might become the bigger change here rather than the 2y grace period.

But wasn’t that part of amendment too?
To ensure enforcement ?

Yes it’s part of the change, it’s just interesting that many comment focus in that while it was a side thing (the initial goal was just the 1e transition part).
