The parliament spoke today about waiving the withholding tax. The clash left-right about the tax system on investment is definitely a hot topic in this country. This change could definitely boost the investment industry of Switzerland and with the end of bank secrecy the withholding makes no sense for me anymore.

Withholding tax would be eliminated only for bonds, as I understand it. Dividends would still be subject to withholding tax.

Bank secrecy remains inside Switzerland, and no end is in the works, withholding tax remains purposeful.
