Should I Contribute to 3a or Continue Investing in VT as a young person?

No one knows. So you need to build some scenarios and make a decision

The reality is, if you’re talking 2 years of contributions, it doesn’t really make much of a difference. Just do what you feel comfortable with.

In addition to the above, taxable investments are subject to change of conditions too. For example, IBKR could up their fees, refuse Swiss residents or go bankrupt, which would force us to use more expensive brokers; or taxation could change (taxation of capital gains or change in ordinary taxation rates).

The future is uncertain. If you invest in yourself (skillset and relationship network) and keep investing steadily, you’ll have all you need to handle whatever happens. In the mean time, building life experiences (including spending a bit on them) can help develop a positive mindset, which will serve you well on your investing path.
